Stacking the Shelves: May 2014

Sunday 1 June 2014

Stacking the Shelves is a book haul meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

Yahoo, I made it through May! I had two big essay deadlines last month that ate up so much of my time that I just couldn't find the time to read much at all. But now it's all over and I can read and blog all I want and Armchair BEA really got me into the swing of things. I've posted almost every day this week and I've never done that before (I didn't post yesterday or the day before because I suck and didn't have a review scheduled)!

Yes, round of sandwich applause for me for being active!

Anyhoo, I got a lot of books this month. So many that I'm definitely not going to be buying for a while. Let's hop to it then! Oh, and if you were at BEA and got a copy of Afterworlds: I hate you and you should have grabbed one for me (can you tell that I'm incredibly impatient for this book??).
Bought this month:

Gah, I bought so many books this month that the next few months may just be filled with library books >.< Or maybe I'll stalk the free Kindle books... Anyways, this month I mainly got books that I've been wanting to get for a while now (I'm especially glad that I bought Odd Thomas because I'd been hunting around for it for months) and I feel like reading more contemporary since it's getting into summer. Although it doesn't feel like summer up here in North Eastern England because it's been raining quite badly a bit. And I also managed to get a couple of freebies on Kindle!

From the library:

My library reopened! It closed in either January or February (I can't really remember) and it was actually set to reopen at the end of March, but it didn't open until a couple of weeks ago. So I got some books out to celebrate! Whee!
What books did you get? Leave me a link and I'll pop by!

  2. Congrats on being more active. I try to post 5-6 times a week, but it's nice to have a day off to recover and prep my posts for the next week! I hope you enjoyed ArmchairBEA! Looks like you got some great books! I read Easy recently and LOVED it! Also, I really enjoyed 13 Reasons Why. It was a different kind of book even though I hated Hannah's decision and even "why" she made her choice. It was still a book that made me think a lot! Hope you have a great week!

  3. Awesome haul! I absolutely loved Why We Broke Up. It was unlike anything that I had ever read before. We Were Liars sounds really amazing as well! I've heard pretty good things about it actually. I hope you enjoy your books. :)
